Aggressor
Slider adds ARCOR Open title to growing win column.
After winning the ROAR modified national title weeks earlier
on the banks of Sandhills in NC, Arnie Fie and his Aggressor
Slider chassis made the ride up I-77 from Charlotte to Akron,
OH for the 2006 ARCOR Open held at Classic Hobbies. Qualifying
was tight and after it was over on Saturday night Arnie and
his Slider chassis Aggressor were sitting on the outside pole,
.23 sec from TQ with a very racy car. Sunday morning began
the triple main format which basically is the best 2 out of
3 mains to determine the champion. In the first main Arnie
was able to break free of the pack and drive away using the
power of a 7 turn TrueSpeed motor and TrueSpeed 4200mah battery.
The 2nd main was a repeat of the first with another solid
run from begining to end to secure the win in the best 2 out
of 3 format. Look for Arnie's and other team driver's set-up
sheets in the tech tips section on our site.
Three
Amigos conquor 9th Annual St. Roch Classic in Quebec.
On the weekend of April 8th over 100 of the best racers in
eastern Canada and New England gathered once again for the
"The Rock" hosted by the R/C
club of St Roch in Quebec, Canada. This years running
had much of the same faces and cars on the winners podium
as in 2005. In the 19 turn class, Eric Salvas bested the field
in qualifying and put the show on in the main proving why
he was the man to TQ and win the class with his Aggressor
solid chassis. Finishing 4th was Steve Salvas and 6th Todd
Putnam. In the stock class, the three amigos rode again. This
time Steve Salvas showed his dominance and TQ'd and won the
class with adopted brother Todd Putnam 2nd and twin brother
Eric Salvas coming home in 3rd place.(Pictured Left) Salvas,
Putnam, and Salvas used Aggressor solid chassis to best a
field of 50 entries in this class. See Eric and Steve's set-ups
under the tech tips section on our site. Good run guys!
Marabella
and Fie take ROAR Carpet Oval Nationals.
Sandhills Raceway
in Vass, NC was the location for the 2006 running of the ROAR
Carpet Oval Nationals where TrueSpeed/CustomWorks drivers
Phil Marabella and Arnie Fie brought home the hardware once
again. In the 19 turn 1/12th scale class Phil continued his
career long dominance of the class with another flawless TQ
and Win using TrueSpeed motors. In the 1/10th scale modified
class, Arnie posted the fast time of the weekend to earn TQ
honors over a very stout field. When the main started, Arnie
and Phil both took full advantage of their Truespeed powered
CustomWorks Aggressor Slider pan cars as Phil raced his way
to a 3rd place showing and Arnie secured his 2nd ROAR National
title in a row by running away from the field from the pole.

Salvas wins soildly at 8th Annual The Rock Classic.

Works Aggressor drove their way to the win at Canada's premier
oval racing event. Qualifying was tight as always in the ultra
competitive 4 cell stock class, where a couple tenth's of
a second lost can mean the difference from qualifying for
the "A" main or just being in any main event. Eric
Salvas started his Aggressor from the outside pole while his
brother and eventual winner Steve qualified 4th when the tone
sounded for the start of the main event. From the start it
was all Steve as he picked his way to the front and nearly
lapped the field for the win. Congratulations to Steve and

Custom Works newest team member Phil

Nitro Sprint car to a win in its first race at this years

The Nitro EDM main looked much the same way as Phil had the
field lapped by the 3 minute mark with his prototype Intimidator

victory when it flamed out with only 20 seconds remaining
in the race. Based on the new GBX series of kits the GSX nitro

available by early summer. Stay tuned for more info and photos
